A thermal insulated bitumen tank showing an out of tolerance tilt is to be periodically monitored in service. To be able to measure tilt of the shell covered by the thermal insulation, a device is welded on the top and bottom of the tank allowing to fix with millimiter precision magnetical targets. These targets enable the precise and repetitive monitoring of the tank tilt.
